A local contemporary artist has been selected to showcase his work in a prestigious gallery that regularly exhibits work by the industry’s elite.

The UK’s leading fine art publisher, Washington Green, has chosen Burton upon Trent-based Tom Voyce as one of 20 shortlisted artists who will participate in its ‘Summer Exhibition 2018’. This follows IN:SIGHT, the company’s call for innovative visual artists to enter their work to its panel of top art reviewers, which attracted over 600 submissions.

Now in its fifth year, the Summer Exhibition 2018 will take place from Saturday 28th July to Sunday 26th August at Castle Fine Art on Manchester’s King Street. Tom’s work will be presented alongside the likes of Bob Dylan and Ronnie Wood – just some of the names represented by Washington Green.

Tom’s mood-evoking pieces reveal an interest in the formal elements of composition: structure, perspective, shape and light. Through this, he hopes to explore the boundaries between abstraction and figuration.

Artists featured in the Summer Exhibition are in with the chance of securing a publishing contract with Washington Green, and one overall winner will receive a prize of £2,000.

Tom Voyce said: “I’m unbelievably proud to have been chosen to exhibit my work as part of the Summer Exhibition 2018 and to have it displayed alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.

“With so many talented artists all striving to get their art seen by new audiences, raising your profile can be a challenge. I’m grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to see how visitors to the exhibition respond to my work.”

Glyn Washington, founder and creative director of Washington Green, added: “IN:SIGHT has attracted more emerging and established artists this year than ever before.

“It is a great source of pride for all concerned to present this year’s line-up. Each and every exhibitor is a worthy finalist with immense talent and commitment so it is a real joy to give them a platform where they are able to share their work with the public.”

Washington Green’s ‘Summer Exhibition 2018’ will take place at Castle Fine Art, 12-14 King Street, Manchester, M2 6AG. For more information please see www.castlefineart.com
